Aunt Clara's was the home of Clara and Wilmont Irving.  The home was built in 1852 by Alexander Steele, brother to famed shipbuilder Johnathan Steele.  Alexander Steele notably built many of the homes of this era that still stand in the community.  The home now belongs to Clara Irving's descendants, the Steele family.  Under the leadership of Lindsay Steele, the family has been working hard to modernize and restore the structure to it's former glory.  The project began in 2009 when the Steele's purchased the property; contents included.  While renovating they have uncovered the rich history of the house and Scott's Bay.  There evidently will be many artifacts to admire upon the grand opening (now set for June 2011).

Scott's Bay is an interesting and family oriented community.  Said to be founded by ship wrecked passengers, it was established in 1764.  Many of of the family names of the original settlers still exist in Scott's Bay today.

Scott's Bay overlooks the Bay of Fundy, a body of water that is famous for the world's highest tides.  It is also home to Cape Split.  Cape split has a beautiful hiking trail, marvelous cliffs, amazing rip tides, and is host to ancient Mi'Kmaq legends.  The legends say that the great god Glooscap formed the peaks of Cape Split with his mighty axe and that it now serves as a gateway between the land of the living and the land of the dead.

Scott's Bay has an annual celebration called "Bay Day' which takes place on Canada Day (July 1).  For decades the small fishing and farming village has created modest floats and marched down the main thoroughfare for all to enjoy. The day is filled with games, entertainment, foods, a market, and more recently fireworks at dusk.

Scott's Bay has many community based organizations like a women's institute, a community hall association, and a recreation committee.  The recreation committee is a sub committee of the hall association that seeks funding to build infrastructure and support organized community activities like Christmas and Halloween parties or public skating parties.  Since it's foundation it has constructed an asphalt sports pad and an annual outdoor skating rink.
